Almost $4.5 million in Commonwealth Financing Authority
grants were awarded to four projects in Cumberland County, said state Sen. Pat
Vance (R-Cumberland, York).
A spokeswoman for the state Department of Community and
Economic Development said the entire list of CFA-approved projects will be
released in the coming days.
“Each of these projects will improve transportation flow
or encourage the use of clean energy vehicles in the area,” Vance said. “I’m
pleased the Commonwealth Financing Authority saw the importance of each of
these projects to the quality of life in central Pennsylvania.”
The projects receiving grants are:
• $1.9 million for transportation improvements for a
49.8-acre, residential and commercial community in Summerdale, including
pedestrian facilities.
• $1.4 million for construction of a connector road
between York and Trindle roads in South Middleton Township.
• $767,740 to construct a liquid-natural-gas fueling
station at United Parcel Service’s Mechanicsburg location.
• $400,257 to install a new public compressed-natural-gas
station at the current clean energy liquefied-natural-gas station in Middlesex
Township.
Vance’s district includes all of Cumberland County and
Carroll, Fairview, Franklin, Monaghan, Warrington and Washington townships and
Dillsburg, Franklintown and Wellsville boroughs in York County.
