Comcast chooses firm to design interior of new Philadelphia skyscraper

Gensler, an architectural firm, has been selected to design the interiors of the new Comcast Innovation and Technology Center.

Gensler is collaborating with Foster + Partners, which designed the structure, as well as Daroff Design Inc., a Philadelphia architectural firm. The goal is to create a “functional, aesthetic, sustainable and progressive interior environment that will effectively integrate with the architectural design of the building,” the firm said in a statement.

The $1.2 billion building at 18th and Arch streets in Philadelphia is under construction and is expected to be completed by early 2018. The structure will house the NBC10, Telemundo as well as have spaces that promote collaboration and innovation as well as provide space for product testing and tech startups.

Liberty Property Trust of Malvern, Pa., is constructing the building.
