Alvin H. Butz Inc. of Allentown is building a new bistro and
health care delivery kitchen for Moravian Village of Bethlehem. The bistro and
kitchen are part of a larger project which includes a new performing arts
center.
The bistro, yet to be named, is designed to accommodate
about 50 people, including wheelchair occupants, and adheres to Americans with
Disabilities Act requirements, according to a news release.
“Moravian Village provides a wonderful service to their
residents,” said Greg Butz, president and CEO of Alvin H. Butz. “We are pleased
to be part of their ongoing improvements to the facility.”
The new venue will offer a nonformal dining atmosphere and
will be available to all Moravian Village residents and their guests. Once the
performing arts center is completed, the venue also will be used as the
receiving area for various events.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held, and construction should
begin in early August. The bistro should open next year, according to Butz.
The kitchen is designed to serve the health care center
residents in their rooms or in the dining rooms. The service-style meal
delivery will serve personal care residents, apartment residents and cottage
residents.
Hemmler + Camayd Architects of Scranton designed the
project.
