Boom Truck Operator Electrical Safety PSA:

I have spent 17 years of my career leading a small truck equipment company here in South Eastern Pennsylvania.  In that time, I bore witness to the loss of lives and multiple occurrences of serious and disfiguring injuries to boom truck operators throughout the region.   Upon my transition to the commercial construction side of the industry in 2004, I came to realize that the available pallet of safety training and offerings for the building material delivery industry are simply not as strong as those available to the commercial construction industry.  Additionally, as equipment operators are regularly exposed to both the commercial and residential marketplaces, the level of site safety management differs by project. Furthermore, in some cases, operator training on the equipment is limited to only that provided by the equipment installer upon initial delivery of the equipment.  GMCS is partnering with regional risk & safety industry leaders along with material handling equipment dealers to collaborate on industry solutions and to craft a regional solution to this safety and training shortfall in our industry.  Contact Wayne Gregory @ wegregory@gregorymcs.com if your firm is interested in learning more about this innovative training solution.

The following is A MUST-WATCH for every GMCS client that owns and or operates a boom truck.  This simple reminder to your employees during a  weekly toolbox talk could be all that it takes to avoid a major catastrophe in your own organization.
