Medical office building, residential units slated for Route 100

This summer/fall, a new medical office facility could be rising off Route 100.

Serfass Construction Management Inc. of North Whitehall Township earned a contract to build a medical office building for Jaindl Land Co. near Weis Markets in Fogelsville.

Kevin Serfass, president of Serfass, said construction should be on a 10-month schedule. The 40,000-square-foot building is designed by MKSD Architects of South Whitehall Township and will be constructed on a vacant lot on the same side as Weis Markets, Serfass said.

The site is at the southwest corner of Nursery Street and Route 100, according to Adam Jaindl of Jaindl Land Co.

Jaindl said it was not yet determined who is financing the project or how much it would cost to build. While he did not disclose the users of the facility, he said it would likely be a single user.

The name of the building, which is fully leased, and amount of jobs it would bring have yet to be determined, Jaindl said.

Jaindl Land Co. submitted a land development plan for approval with Upper Macungie Township. Final approval is expected in the next couple of months, Jaindl said.

He said he anticipates additional growth in this area and said the company is planning apartments/townhouses and single-family homes as part of the project.
