East Lampeter Township-based High Construction Co. was
awarded a $14.1 million contract this week by the Pennsylvania Turnpike
Commission for a maintenance facility relocation project in Montgomery County.
High is responsible for the general construction of the
Plymouth Meeting facility at the Norristown interchange, which is on the
mainline of the Pennsylvania Turnpike.
The project will include construction of three new
buildings: the maintenance building, a truck and equipment storage building,
and a salt storage building, including salt brine and calcium chloride liquid
storage and a brine-making station.
The contract also includes construction of a westbound
access ramp to connect to Belvoir Road, the Pennsylvania State Police impound
lot and a maintenance storage yard.
In addition, High will make several site improvements and
demolish the existing Plymouth Meeting maintenance facility.
Construction is slated to wrap up in the summer of 2015.
