NORRISTOWN The Commonwealth Financing Authority has
announced that hundreds of thousands of dollars in gaming fees from the Valley
Forge Casino Resort may go to local infrastructure projects that promote or
attract new business to the county.
Grants are available for projects in Montgomery County that
will improve the water infrastructure or promote new development,
redevelopment, or reuse of sites. The money can also be used for planning or
feasability studies for such projects.
Gov. Corbett said the program "will help the county
develop shovel-ready sites to meet the needs of businesses and attract new
investment and jobs."
The grants can fund up to 75 percent of the total project,
with a maximum grant of $200,000. Applicants must show they have the rest of
the funding lined up, and cannot begin projects until the grant is approved.
Applications will be accepted April 1 through June 30.
