HARRISBURG, Pa., March 19, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ --
Governor Tom Corbett has announced the nomination of Albert Mezzaroba to the
Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board.
"Al's extensive professional background will provide
the Labor Relations Board with a tremendous amount of experience and
knowledge," Corbett said. "I am confident in Al's ability to perform
the duties of this position successfully."
Previously, Mezzaroba was the President and CEO of the Lower
Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township. He also was President and CEO of the
Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority and Chief Counsel to the Office of the
President of the Philadelphia City Council. Albert was previously in private
practice at Masciocchi and Mezzaroba and Albert Mezzaroba law offices. Mr.
Mezzaroba also currently serves as the Board Chair for the Reading Terminal
Market.
Mezzaroba holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Villanova
University and a Juris Doctorate from Temple University School of Law.
The Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board administers and
enforces Commonwealth laws dealing with labor-management relations. It provides
efficient and impartial oversight of the laws which guarantee collective
bargaining rights to public and some private sector employees in Pennsylvania
to promote stability and mutual benefit in employer/employee relationships and
assure balance in the rights and interests of employers, employees and the
public at large.
