AMERICAS - SMG, which manages and operates the Pennsylvania
Convention Center (PCC) in Philadelphia, is adding new employees with
facilities management experience to complement the existing staff at the
centre. SMG hopes this will help fulfil its goal of improved customer service.
Lorenz Hassenstein, former Vice-President and GM of
Advertising Specialities was named GM of the PCC in December, while Director of
Finance John Tracey, also began his duties on 1 December 2013.
Greg Tesone, who led the SMG team at Boardwalk Hall,
Atlantic City Convention Center, is the new Assistant GM in Philadelphia
working closely with event productions, event services and labour services.
Also joining SMG in Philadelphia are Kim Theethe as Production Manager; Maggie
Santos as Event Manager; and Janet Mitrocsak as Senior Facilities Manager.
Labour Services Director Scot Miller joined SMG at PCC at
the end of December with Jeff Westfall as Labour Services Manager.
Eric Erle, whose position transitioned from the PCC
Authority to SMG, has gained new responsibilities including housekeeping and
setup. Three other authority employees also received new duties under SMG:
Tameka Henderson was named Onsite HR Manager, while Jorge Palmieri and Chris
Cozzen transferred to the events group. Mary Ann Torres returned to the
centre's event services team as Senior Events Manager after a brief stint in
Washington DC.
