In his bid for the final casino license in Philadelphia,
Bart Blatstein is working with community leaders to figure out how best to help
them with profits from his Provence Casino at Broad and Callowhill streets.
While that process typically happens after a casino license
is awarded, Blatstein is doing it beforehand, according to the Philadelphia
Daily News. But is it just a ploy to show the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
that the community members are on board with his casino idea?
His Tower Entertainment company "promises such basic
things as clearing trash and construction debris and paying up to $450,000 a
year to a neighborhood-revitalization fund," said the Daily News.
