Phillipsburg Town Council approved the second reading of an ordinance allocating $390,000 for construction phase services of the Phillipsburg Wastewater Treatment Plant and the relocation of water during Tuesday night's meeting.
The water that currently goes directly into the Lopatcong Creek will now go into the Delaware River.

Funding for the measure will come from the Sewer Utility Capital Improvement Fund, according to the ordinance.
In addition council heard six resolutions ranging from approving liquor licenses for two establishments - Shaken Not Stirred Liquors, located on 206 Lincoln St., and The Snack Bar, located at 7 Filmore St. The fee for each license totaled $1,400.
Council also heard two resolutions to submit applications and execute a grant contract with the New Jersey Department of Transportation for the improvements to Main Street for Phase Six and Phase Seven work.

The previous five phases involved streetscape improvements to the town's South Main Street business district, which included resurfacing of two blocks of South Main Street, plus new sidewalks, curbs, trees and lights.
