The Reading Hospital said it has one of the busiest emergency departments in the state, and it's about to grow.
The hospital broke ground Friday morning for its 13th clinical building.
The $333.2 million facility will have 150 private patient rooms, 15 emergency rooms, four trauma bays and 24 surgical suites. It's being built on 7th Avenue in West Reading.
The emergency department cares for more than 11,000 patients each month.
Work on the new building is expected wrap up in late 2016.
